Oil Service & Breakdown Engineer Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Ongoing / Long-Term Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Pay: Per-service rate for servicing / Hourly rate for breakdowns Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Oil Service & Breakdown Engineer to join their team and support customers across the Cardiff area. This role involves servicing, maintaining and repairing oil-fired heating systems within domestic properties. Ideal for a reliable, customer-focused engineer looking for steady work with a respected heating services provider. Key Responsibilities Carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance of oil-fired boilers Diagnose and repair faults on oil heating systems Attend emergency breakdown appointments Complete all documentation accurately and in line with company procedures Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE regulations Deliver excellent customer service at all times Assist with gas appliance servicing where qualified Essential & Desirable Qualifications Essential: OFTEC qualification(s) Basic DBS check NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent Highly Desirable: Valid gas qualifications (e.g. Gas Safe registration) CCN1, HTR1, CKR1, CENWAT What We're Looking For Proven experience servicing and repairing oil-fired heating systems Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills Ability to work independently and manage daily workload Professional, courteous approach with strong customer service skills Full UK driving licence Pay Structure Servicing: Paid per completed service Breakdowns: Paid hourly
