Head of Digital to join our Digital team based at our Head office in York. This is a critical role that enables you to make a meaningful impact throughout the duration of the fixed-term contract.
As an experienced
Head of Digital you will lead the digital strategy to enhance customer engagement and drive business growth in alignment with the business strategy, while maximising return on investment across digital channels in the UK and Europe.
Role Details:
- Annual salary £60,000 - £70,000 dependent on skills and experience. Plus an annual on target bonus of up to 15%
- Role based: York , YO32 9PT
- Contract type: Fixed Term Contract to cover Maternity Leave, 14 months
- Car Allowance £7,500
- Eligible for Private Medical Scheme
- Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year.
In this role you will be required to:
* Develop and lead the digital marketing strategy for the UK and Europe, ensuring alignment with the business strategy and driving measurable business growth through a digital roadmap.
* Managing a team including Communications Manager, Email Campaigns Manager, UK Digital Manager and European Digital Manager.
* Lead digital transformation initiatives across the business to enhance efficiency and improve customer experience.
* Monitor emerging digital trends and technologies, integrating innovative solutions to maintain competitive advantage.
* Manage the digital budget, optimising investments to maximise return on investment.
* Manage all digital channels across the UK and Europe to deliver measurable business results.
* Optimise customer journeys to enhance engagement, retention and conversion.
* Manage relationships with digital suppliers and agencies.
* Lead and develop the digital team, with a focus on SEO, PPC, digital analytics and other key disciplines.
* Lead the redesign and ongoing improvement of websites, enhancing UX and prioritising conversion in line with business objectives.
* Use analytics tools to track performance, providing actionable insights and reports to support decision-making.
* Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and oversee digital platform security.
* Proactively identify and manage risks related to digital channels, implementing contingency plans as required.

Our Ideal Candidate
* Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
* Extensive experience in digital marketing and content strategy.
* Proven track record of managing multiple agencies and suppliers.
* Demonstrable experience in tracking, analysing, and reporting KPIs to business and commercial leaders.
* Hands-on experience running digital campaigns across SEO, PPC, social media, email and content.
* Good understanding of commercial and contractual considerations.
* Experience of planning and managing budgets.
* Knowledge of website management and UX optimisation.
* Ability to identify and implement innovative solutions, staying ahead of digital trends.
