Kier has been tasked with increasing the plant鈥檚 capacity and reduce storm overflows. Enhancements will including a new activated sludge plant (ASP) chemical dosing system, an additional final settlement tank (FST), and improvements to the sludge treatment process to ensure compliance with new phosphorus discharge permits.
Kier鈥檚 natural resources, nuclear & networks division has been working on the project on an early contractor involvement (ECI) basis since March 2024 and is now moving to the build phase. The 拢24m project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
The project has been commissioned as part of the water industry鈥檚 eighth regulatory asset management period (AMP8) investment cycle.
