Hercules is a long-standing supplier of construction labour to Balfour Beatty and is now widening this relationship to the electricity sector, with Hercules providing specialist substation, cable and civils labour support.
Hercules' expansion in the power and energy sector began with the acquisition in June 2025 of Advantage NRG, which supplies linesmen for the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical transmission lines. Hercules increased its presence in the sector in October 2025 with the acquisition of a 70% interest in Warrington-based Lyons Power Services, a specialist UK and overseas provider of power and energy infrastructure services, as well as commissioning engineers to the transmission and distribution network.
Hercules chief executive Brusk Korkmaz said: "Being added to Balfour Beatty's preferred supplier list for its power transmission and distribution work is another milestone in Hercules' expansion in the UK energy infrastructure market. It reflects our strong working relationship with Balfour Beatty and the capabilities we have built in specialist labour supply across substations, cabling and civils.
"This development supports Hercules' continued expansion in the power and energy sector and provides an opportunity to deploy the expertise of our recent acquisition, Advantage NRG. We see significant investment continuing across the UK energy infrastructure sector as it responds to rising demand and long-term network requirements over the next decade."
