The contractor will build a 4,320m2 facility for 350 pupils aged 7 to 11 years. There will be classrooms and a main school hall to replace the existing Cholmeley House library and teaching block, which will be demolished as part of the project.
ɫèֱ²¥ starts this month and will also include refurbishment and re-roofing works to Highgate Junior School’s Ingleholme Building, one of only a few remaining 19th century ‘villa’ houses in Highgate.
Designed by Architype, the scheme will incorporate energy efficiency measures to enhance sustainability, including photovoltaic panels and a green roof. The building will also follow Passivhaus principles and use triple glazing to all windows.
Completion is scheduled for the end of 2015.
