As of February 2026, Kay Slade will take over from Mark Arrandale, who has been serving as interim managing director of UK Regional Civils since October 2025 and will return to his position as finance director at the end of the month.
Slade is a qualified solicitor who joined Balfour Beatty as managing counsel in April 2022, becoming northwest area director for the Regional Civils business two years later. Since then, she is credited with having reshaped the business, consolidating its footprint and improving its performance.
It seems to be her management capabilities rather than an ability to settle or avoid legal disputes that has won her the promotion.
Nick Crossfield, divisional CEO of Balfour Beatty鈥檚 UK 色猫直播 Services business, said: 鈥淜ay is an outstanding leader whose deep industry expertise and proven record of delivery speak for themselves. I am delighted she has agreed to take the helm as managing director as we look ahead to a strong pipeline of opportunities and continue to deliver for our customers.鈥
Slade herself said: 鈥淚 am honoured to assume this role and to lead such a highly skilled and dedicated team whose work consistently delivers meaningful and lasting benefits for the communities we serve. Having joined Balfour Beatty as managing counsel four years ago, progressing to managing director reflects both the breadth of opportunity available and the company鈥檚 strong commitment to developing talent and supporting career growth.鈥
