Skanska and Strabag to build Norway’s first TBM tunnel

8 May 14 A joint venture team of Skanska and Strabag has won the contract for Norway’s first railway tunnel to be built with a tunnel boring machine (TBM).

The tunnel is a part of a major railway extension at Arna-Bergen. Skanska and Strabag signed a NOK1.3bn (拢129m) contract with the Norwegian Rail Administration.

Work will begin next month for completion during summer 2021.
