Weston Homes group development director Steve Hatton has been promoted to the Weston Homes group board, while Abbie Simpson has been promoted to land & partnerships director and Daniel Murray to planning & design director.

These promotions follow the recent launch of Weston Partnerships, a new division focused on developing third party partnership schemes. This new strategy will include build-to-rent, affordable housing, student accommodation, co-living and later living developments.

Led by Steve Hatton, Weston Partnerships already has a pipeline of more than 1,000 units across sites in Bracknell, Barking and Cambridge. The trio of promotions will support this next phase of growth as the business continues to diversify, the company said.

Steve Hatton joined Weston Homes in 2002 through its management trainee programme and has risen through the ranks. “Weston Homes has been a huge part of my life and career, so joining the group Board is a really special milestone,” he said. “We have a number of landmark developments in progress that are truly building new communities and I look forward to working with our senior team as we continue to grow and evolve.”

Abbie Simpson, promoted from head of land to land & partnerships director, joined the business in 2015 as a trainee land manager. “Having grown my career with Weston Homes over the past decade, it’s an honour to step into this new role,” she said. “This is an exciting time for the business, and I’m looking forward to working closely with our partners to identify new opportunities and help deliver the next generation of high-quality developments that Weston Homes is known for.”

Daniel Murray, now planning & design director, joined Weston Homes in 2018 as a senior architect, later rising to head of design. “Design is at the heart of everything we do at Weston Homes,” Murray said. “I’m excited to build on that strong foundation and lead our talented team as we continue to create thoughtfully designed homes and communities that people are proud to live in.”

Bob Weston, chairman and managing director of Weston Homes, said: “Recognising and championing exceptional talent is vital to everything we do at Weston Homes. We always strive to support our team’s personal and professional development, and it is a source of considerable personal pride to see colleagues’ achievements and qualifications alongside their excellent work within the group. These promotions reflect the strength of our people and come at a pivotal moment for the business, as landmark developments such as Abbey Quay and the growth of Weston Partnerships pave the way for the future.”
