Headquartered in Leigh, Greater Manchester, and with depots in Newcastle and Carlisle, APL operates a fleet of scissor lifts, boom lifts and telehandlers serving customers in the construction, infrastructure and retail sectors.
The acquisition extends Centurion鈥檚 portfolio of services, which focuses on the industrial and offshore sectors. In a statement, Centurion said that APL鈥檚 鈥渟trong market reputation鈥� will benefit the group while, as part of Centurion, APL will benefit from the group鈥檚 financial strength.
APL now has access to additional financial backing to invest in new rental assets, infrastructure and capabilities, said Centurion.
Centurion, which is majority owned by private equity firm SCF Partners, has grown rapidly in recent years. Since 2017, group revenue has more than doubled, from US$200m (拢150m) to US$500m (拢756m) last year.
Acquisitions are central to Centurion鈥檚 growth strategy and the company has completed 21 acquisitions in the UK, US, Canada, Europe, UAE and Australia since 2017, expansion into new markets such as renewables, minerals, infrastructure, defence and government.
