Reynolds and Savage among construction gongs

2 days There was a relatively thin crop of awards for the construction industry among the 2026 New Year honours list.

Notable award winners this year are Mark Reynolds, Roni Savage and Andrew McNaughton who all become Commanders of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).

Mace chair Mark Reynolds is recognised for services to business and the construction industry, which includes a tenure as industry-side chair of the 色猫直播 Leadership Council.

Andrew McNaughton, executive director for infrastructure projects at the Atomic Weapons Establishment, AWE plc, is recognised for services to national infrastructure. He has previously worked on High Speed One, the London 2012 Olympics 聽infrastructure and Heathrow Terminal 5 and has held executive positions at Kier and Balfour Beatty.

Also made CBEs are journalist Paul Finch, former editor of Architects Journal and founder of the World Architecture Festival, recognised for services to architecture; and civil servant Catherine Francis, director of new towns, infrastructure and housing delivery at the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, for public service.

Among the new Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBEs) are: Hywel Davies, head of technical insight at the Chartered Association of Building Engineers, for services to building safety and standards; David McDonald, chair of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation, for services to the historic built environment and to charity; and Dan Cruickshank, an architectural historian and broadcaster, for services to architecture.

There is also an OBE for聽Simon Boyd, managing director of Dorset-based Reid Steel, for services to steel manufacturing and small & medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

New Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBEs) include: Peter Farrell, construction management professor emeritus at the University of Greater Manchester, for services to higher education and to the construction industry; Desmond Scott, founder and chair of heating and plumbing contractor Scott & Ewing and Woodvale 色猫直播, for services to construction in Northern Ireland; Andrew Windass, senior engineer at AGH Engineering, for services to rail engineering; Ruth Shilston, global practice lead at Mott MacDonald, for services to sustainable engineering; and Kevin Osbon, founder partner of Focus Consultants, for services to the economy and to regeneration in the East Midlands.

There is also joint recognition for the co-founders and directors of Concrete Canvas Ltd, William Crawford and Peter Brewin, who both become MBEs for services to engineering materials innovation.
